Description
THE HUMAN FORM – HEAD, TRUNK, LIMBS – THE ANIMAL GROUPS – HEAD-LIKE ANIMALS
MAN AND ANIMAL – 50 pages: Four weeks of editable lesson plans with mentoring comments are illustrated with bookwork and blackboard examples, maths, spelling and handwriting practice, a modelling exercise, a dry-felting craft project, and a letter of information to the parents. Rehearsals of the class play for Christmas continue in brief daily sessions. (The play script is available separately.)
Comes with a free template of seasonal and topic-related poems and songs, musical scores and mentor’s footnotes. Customise it for your cultural setting, or use it to teach English as a foreign language.
The first of three blocks on this topic introduces the study of the human form in relation to the cosmos, and human skills in relation to the animal world, following Rudolf Steiner’s indications. Through modelling, drawing and writing, the children gain an understanding of what is special about being human and express this new awareness in poetic summaries. Alongside, maths and spelling and cursive handwriting are practised, a play is rehearsed and dry felting is learnt.
