Placing an order and getting an error message is bewildering and frustrating. Why is this happening? And what can one do? Here are some common notifications and their causes, followed by the steps that lead to a successful purchase.

- “Your card was declined”
- “Your card has insufficient funds”
- “Your card does not support this type of purchase”
WHY IS IT HAPPENING?
“Your card was declined” can mean any of the following:
- Bank account has insufficient funds
- Card has expired
- Card’s spending limit is exceeded
- Details were entered incorrectly
Message 2) and 3) are self-explanatory.
WHAT TO DO?
- Check and sort out bank balance, card validity and spending limit.
- Use an internationally accepted credit card (Visa, American Express, Mastercard, Discover & Diners Club, eftpos Australia) or – depending on your device – select the Apple Pay / Google Pay option.
- Then enter all details correctly.
