THE RED & THE BLUE PRISMS & REFRACTION THE COLOUR CIRCLE COMPLEMENTARY PAIRS

COLOUR THEORY36 pages: Two weeks of detailed lesson plans with mentoring comments, resources, experiments, summary texts and presentation notes are illustrated with blackboard suggestions, the pupils’ bookwork and artwork, and the PHYSICS Main Lesson Review block test.

The free supplement of poems is an editable template which includes footnotes and attributions.

Following on from Acoustics and Optics, this chapter concludes the Physics block with a study of the nature and properties of colour. Without imposing accepted theories on young minds, they are invited to observe several colour phenomena freely and accurately. Experiments on the arising of yellow, red and blue lead to prismatic refraction, the colour circle, complementary pairs, tertiary colours, the spectrum and the coloured shadows. Personal experiences and immediate insight will help to understand, in years to come, the ongoing ʻNewton vs Goetheʼ debate.

I am overjoyed that I have finally found a Waldorf Curriculum I can clearly follow, learning alongside my two sons as a homeschooling parent. Fabienne your planning has brought confidence to my teaching, knowing everything my child needs to learn at each grade is including with structured thorough planning and examples of childrens’ book work etc. It has saved me so much time and the depth you go into for each topic shows your efforts which can be shared with teachers as well as parents like myself. I highly recommend Fabienne and her work. Thank you so much!

  2. Roberto Trostli

I continue to be impressed and inspired by Fabienne’s work. The chapter on the nature and properties of color covered the subject thoroughly and presented it in such a lively and artistic way. Having taught sixth grade to six different groups of children, I was not expecting to encounter much new material or effective ways of presenting the topics, and I was pleasantly surprised and pleased to see what was included. Fabienne’s suggestions and examples for the written and artistic work will be helpful to any teacher, however experienced. Thank you for your tireless effort to bring the Waldorf curriculum to life for teachers and home school parents!
