INTRODUCING BIOLOGY – DRAWING ANIMALS – REPRODUCTIVE SYSTEMS – BIOLOGY VOCABULARY

BIOLOGY PROJECT – 21 pages: Introduction, project aims, presentation notes, guide sheet template, life cycle summaries of 14 animals of the lower order for comparison, seven of them with illustrations: salmon, snails, frogs, dragonflies, cabbage whites, bees and swifts.

These European examples can be replaced with species from other continents.

This project, designed as weekly homework, involves reading, writing and drawing to study how animals live in the seasonal cycle of the year and propagate their kind. The aim is to foster a renewed appreciation of the fascinating animal world, to teach nature drawing through copying closely observed illustrations, to understand how each species perpetuates its existence, to learn pertinent vocabulary, and to inspire curiosity and independent research outside of school lessons.
